Public Board
Your users' home for feedback, the roadmap and your changelog
Your public board is where users post feedback, vote, follow your roadmap and read your changelog. It lives at your-subdomain.fdback.io, or on your own domain. Open it from Feedback Portal in the sidebar.
What's on it
- Feedback: search, sort by Top Voted, Newest or Trending, and filter by type or status. Each post has its discussion, a timeline, and similar feedback.
- Roadmap: what's planned, in progress and recently shipped. See Roadmap.
- Changelog: your updates, with a What's new pop-up for the latest one. See Changelog.
- Polls: open polls users can vote in. See Polls.
- Chat: a Chat with us button, with live chat.
Signed-in users also get notifications, a profile with their achievements, and a language picker.
Who can see it
In Settings → Board → Access:
- Make board public: anyone can see it. Turn it off and only members can; others are asked to sign in.
- Allow public registration: signed-in users can join your board. They join as Members.
Users can also be signed in from your own app, so they never create a separate account. See Custom Backend Integration.
Board settings
Settings → Board also covers:
- Contributions: allow anonymous posts and comments, and lock a post's type once your team changes it.
- Voting: allow anonymous voting and downvotes.
- Display: show the activity timeline and changelog analytics, turn the Polls tab on or off, and choose whether user profiles are visible to everyone.
- Hide customer names on public pages (Pro).
Branding
In Settings → General → Branding, upload your logo (up to 2MB) and, on Pro, a browser favicon. Visitors can switch between light and dark mode themselves.
Boards on the Free plan show a small Powered by fdback.io badge; paid plans don't.
Languages
The board is available in English, Deutsch and Français. It follows the visitor's browser language, and visitors can pick another one from their profile menu.
Custom domain
Serve your board from your own domain, like feedback.example.com (Pro).
Add your domain
Go to Settings → Custom domain, click Add Custom Domain, and enter the domain.
Add the DNS records
At your DNS provider, add the TXT record for verification and a CNAME record (recommended) or an A record, exactly as shown.
Verify
Click Verify. DNS changes can take a while to spread; the status changes from Pending to Verified once it's live.
Each workspace can have one custom domain. If you downgrade to Free, the domain is turned off; re-enable it after upgrading.
